Biography

Andrea Nocchia was born in 1954 in ancient village of Alto Lazio, currently he lives in Sicily in the province of Ragusa. It's a complex character, attractive, sensitive, unconventional as his work, that reveals its being: author eclectic, creative, talented. "Son and grandson of Art", he learns the photography in his family laboratory. In 1973 he graduate in photography at the CIAC in Rome and in the years to come he participate in seminars and workshops of the leading companies in the photographic and cinematographic field. From 1978 to 1986 he works as motion-pictures cameraman assistant for the production of documentaries, news reports and advertising for RAI and for other public and private companies. From 1987 he begins to practice as a professional photographer working, among other things, with studies in Architecture and Restoration Laboratories. From 1988 to 2001, having success of public and critics, he promotes the result of his own personal research, through numerous photographic Exhibitions. In 2010, after a long break dedicated profitably to historical art studies, humanities and geological research, he returns to photography, taking with enthusiasm and passion where he left off and reinventing, by Web (sites and social networks) and various Exhibitions, including in addition to his previous works, new projects and exciting images. Andrea Nocchia nato nel 1954 in un antico borgo dell'Alto Lazio, attualmente vive in Sicilia in provincia di Ragusa. Personaggio complesso, accativante, sensibile, fuori dagli schemi come le sue opere, che rivelano, appieno il suo essere: autore eclettico, creativo, talentuoso. “Figlio e nipote d'Arte”, ha appreso il mezzo fotografico nello studio di famiglia. Nel 1973 si diploma in fotografia al CIAC di Roma e negli anni a venire partecipa a seminari e workshop delle maggiori aziende del campo fotografico e cinematografico. Dal 1978 al 1986 lavora come assistente operatore cinematografico alla realizzazione di importanti documentari, servizi giornalistici e pubblicità per la RAI e per altre aziende pubbliche e private. Dal 1987 inizia a esercitare l'attività di Fotografo professionista collaborando, tra l'altro, con studi di Architettura e Laboratori di Restauro. Dal 1988 al 2001 promuove, con discreto successo di pubblico e di critica, attraverso varie Mostre e Concorsi, il frutto della propria ricerca personale. Nel 2010, dopo una lunga pausa dedicata, con profitto a studi storico artistici, umanistici e geologici, è ritornato alla fotografia di ricerca, riprendendo con slancio e passione da dove aveva lasciato e riproponendo, tramite il Web (siti e social network) e varie Esposizioni, oltre ai suoi lavori precedenti, nuovi progetti e appassionanti immagini.
